When Color Misbehaves

When Color Misbehaves

An exploration of color, pattern and playfulness, When Color Misbehaves is a bright and mischievous series of paintings created in my Henry Island, Washington, studio as well as at an artist residency at Château de Cerisay in Assé-le-Boisne, France. The vibrant color palette is a departure from the more earthy tones I typically use in my paintings, something I intend to continue in future works. I LOVED making this series. At a time when the world feels a little bit dark and evil, these paintings were my way of dealing with a sense of helplessness and replacing it with humor. I am grateful to Domicile Gallery in Seattle, Washington for encouraging this body of work and ultimately exhibiting it.
